In 2009, Azerbaijan University was declared a pilot higher education institution by the Ministry of Education for the implementation of the credit-multiple-point system.
Currently, there are 3 faculties and 6 departments at Azerbaijan University. The International Master's and Doctoral Center organizes the teaching process of master's, doctoral and doctoral students. There are 24 admissions to the bachelor's level, 23 to the master's level, including MBA, 8 to the doctorate program, and 9 to the dissertation program.
The professor-teacher staff of the university consists of 258 people. The number of students is 3230.
Azerbaijan University, which started its first academic year with 71 students, graduated its first graduates in 1995, and 52 graduates received bachelor's degrees in the first graduation of the university. In total, 5,160 people graduated on the bachelor's level during the period 1995-2023, and 828 people graduated on the master's level during the period 1999-2023.
Currently, teaching is conducted in Azerbaijani and English languages. A one-year language training program is implemented for students admitted to majors taught in English.
